What is Cellulite? And Can we get rid of it?
Cellulite is a natural part of the human body and affects up to 80–90% of people, especially women. It most commonly forms on the thighs, hips, and buttocks but can also be seen on the abdomen, breasts, and upper arms.
Some women are really upset about the fat patches on their skin, especially on the underarm and thigh areas, and lack confidence when wearing short skirts or pants. If you are one of them, this content is just for you.
Can exercise get rid of cellulite?
While exercise can be a useful tool in reducing the appearance of cellulite, it cannot completely get rid of it. What exercise can do is make the muscles under your cellulite stronger. The stronger your muscles are, the better you’ll feel. The better you feel, the more confidence you’ll gain.
If you are focusing on reducing cellulite in lower body areas such as the thighs and buttocks, these exercises are worth trying: squats, jump squats, step-ups, glute and leg kickbacks, reverse lunges, lateral lunges, curtsy lunges, and split squats. Combining strength training and aerobic exercises helps you burn fat while building muscle, including cardio exercises such as walking, running, biking, swimming, and others.
Lack of physical activity can increase the appearance of cellulite. Skin looks smoother and firmer over muscle rather than fat, so exercise that helps replace fat with muscle can make cellulite less noticeable.
Remember, cellulite is a normal and common skin condition that causes a dimpled or rippled appearance on the skin. It’s unnecessary to get rid of cellulite unless you consider it a personal concern, not because of other people.
